SMB(Simulated Moving Bed)에 의한 키랄화합물의 분리 |

Interests on chiral compounds are increasing in these days since pharmaceutical companies have more energy to develop new drug by separating one form from chiral pair compounds. FDA allows the company to market the active form of chiral compounds as new drug and so it is easier to find a new drug from chiral compounds than to look for new chemicals from nature. SMB(Simulated Moving Bed) is a tool utilized for separating one peak from two peaks in chromatograpy. This technology was originally developed as true moving bed in petrochemical industry and then introduced to pharmaceutical industry in 1990s. This presentation deals with general concept of SMB as well as the recent trend of SMB as unit operation of continuous chromatography. |
