Preparation of hybrid scaffold combining PLCL and CHN for the use as bone tissue applications |

Poly(L-lactide-co-ε-caprolactone) (PLCL) is a biocompatible and degradable under physiological conditions. Chitosan (CHN) is obtained by deacetylation of chitin and demonstrates excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability. Three dimensional porous scaffold is considered one of major factors in tissue engineering for the uses in medical and pharmaceutical applications. In this study, we synthesized PLCL and combined with CHN for the preparation of hybrid polymeric scaffold as a potential bone substitute. The physical characteristics of the hybrid scaffolds were analyzed using various analytical instruments, including SEM and FT-IR. The biological functions of the scaffolds were examined via cell assays using osteoblast.
