Genipin is one of cross-linker which improves physical property when it mixes biopolymer such as dorsal and ventral skin extract from yellowfin tuna Thunnus albacares. Skin extract contains gelatin and Genipin is cross-linked with this. Tensile strength was measured 1 to 36 hours and stirred before testing by Universal Testing Manchine (UTM) and added 1wt% genipin in extract was 10% higher than that of original. And then analyze amount of chondroitin sulfate in skin extract by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). It will apply to bioadhesive, for example, biofilm, microcapsule material, adhesion pad for treatment of wound. |
