Re-endothelialization plays an important role in reducing thrombosis after drug-eluting stent (DES) deployment. In this study, the cobalt-chromium (Co-Cr) alloy surface was modified using dopamine-grafted various polysaccharide materials including heparin (Hep-DA), chondroitin sulfate (CS-DA), hyaluronic acid (HA-DA), and vitamin C-modified hyaluronic acid (VITA-HA-DA). The chemical structure and the surface morphology of the Co-Cr before and after modifications were successfully characterized by using XPS, FT IR, UV, SEM, AFM, and water contact angle measurement. For our future study, the proliferation of endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells on the modified Co-Cr samples with dopamine-grafted polysaccharides were compared. The blood compatibility of the modified Co-Cr samples also investigated through fibrinogen adsorption and platelet adhesion studies. |
