Controlled radical polymerization (CRP) is usually carried out in bulk or organic solvents. CRP in an aqueous suspension has many advantages, such as an easy control of heat transfer, absence of organic solvent, and higher monomer conversion. In this study, the controlled cobalt-mediated radical polymerization (CMRP) of vinyl acetate (VAc) was carried out in an aqueous suspension at 30℃. The molecular characteristics of the resulting PVAc was investigated using gel permeation chromatography (GPC). |
