제목 Preparation of Block-copolymer/Metal Complex Micelles for Cisplatin Delivery: Effects of Grafted PEG-Block Size on the Colloidal Stability
초록 We have synthesized a series of block-copolymers composed of PEG(550)-g-methacrylate (PEGMA) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) via atom-transfer radical polymerization.  The resulting copolymers were employed to incorporate the aqua derivative of cisplatin pharmacophore (PtII), a well-known anticancer agent, which then leads to the formation of self-assembled core-shell type nanoparticles, possessing the hydrodynamic diameter range of 20-50 nm in aqueous media.  By varying the length of the PEGMA blocks on the shell with a fixed length of PAA blocks inside the core, the copolymers exhibited the formation of micelles possessing a significantly altered critical micelle concentration (CMC) and different incubation time to reach the micelle/unimer equilibrium.  Our results demonstrated that the  size of the grafted hydrophilic blocks on the shell can dictate the overall colloidal stability of PtII-containing block-copolymer micelles.
