제목 Smoke Emission in Fires from various Fuels
초록 Emission of smoke from various fuels has been examined using data from the literature. The examination of these data show that the average smoke emission rate, GS , depends on the fire size, expressed as the average chemical heat release rate, Qch , and the combustion chemistry expressed as the ratio of the yields or emission rates of CO to CO2 (yCO/CO2 or GCO /GCO2 respectively). Correlation is found between GS and Qch ( yCO / yCO2 ) or Qch (GCO / GCO2 ) to the power 0.96 with a correlation constant of 0.053. The correlation holds for particulate dominated smoke and for fuels with non-particulate dominated smoke in the presence of H and OH atoms provided by other fuels or by the ignition source, such as a hydrocarbon gas burner.
