제목 유화중합 PVC 고분자 제품 내 잔류 모노머 제거를 위한 고효율 stripping column 공정 기술 개발
초록 Polymer devolatilization process is one of the crucial parts for environmental safety and final polymer quality in the polymer production. In emulsion polymerization process, it is much difficult to fulfill the desired degree of monomer removal with avoidance of harsh conditions because of low separation efficiency of current equipment.  
To overcome this challenge, Spinning Cone Column (SCC) is alternatively applied. High degree of monomer removal is reported through experiments, but it is difficult to predict the performance due to its complex fluid dynamics caused by rotation of cone. Hence, CFD modeling has been performed to describe the phenomena inside SCC. The internal flow field is calculated in three phase: liquid film, liquid droplets, and vapor. Eulerian Wall Film (EWF) and Discrete Phase Model (DPM) model are utilized to simulate liquid film and liquid droplet, while Eulerian equation is solved for vapor phase movement.
Core phenomena, the expected reason of higher monomer removal rate, are distinguished through simulations in different conditions. Critical region for stable operation and liquid droplet generation is identified as well.
