제목 | Quantitative evaluation of multiscale segregation in a multicomponent system using information entropy |
초록 | The mixing of multi-component complex fluid in the composite material manufacturing process is one of the critical parts of sample preparation. Inadequate mixing in a complex fluid can cause agglomeration or entanglement of particles, coagulation of fluids, which can lead to defects like a void, crack, and aggregation. In this study, we conducted numerical experiments for the microstructured mixers to assess the mixing efficiency in a traditional way. The staggered herringbone mixer and slanted groove channels were used to mix two immiscible fluids in numerical, and a finite element method with Galerkin-Least Squares method was used to deal with a microfluidic system. Furthermore, we propose a mixing assessment method in terms of the segregation of materials employing the concept of information entropy. |
