제목 Ionic Liquid in Silver Polymer Electrolytes and its Effect on Reduction of Silver Ion
초록 We reported on successful use of ionic liquid in silver polymer electrolytes in controlling ionic interactions and its application to facilitated olefin transport. Ionic liquids composed of 1-butyl-3-methyl imidazolium cation (BMIM+) and nitrate (NO3-) anions or (BF4-) anions were introduced to silver polymer electrolytes consisting of silver ions dissolved in poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) (POZ). We were successful in controlling ionic interactions and structures of polymer electrolytes by introducing ionic liquid, producing enhancement of silver ion activity. These results are believed to be obtained by the diminished interaction of silver cations with counteranions due to the electrostatic interaction of the counteranions with BMIM+ of ionic liquid and by the elevation of polymer chain flexibility. However ionic liquid composed of 1-butyl-3-methyl imidazolium cation (BMIM+) and (BF4-) anions was introduced to silver polymer electrolytes consisting of silver ions dissolved in POZ, the membrane performance decreased with time. Furthermore, BMIM+BF4-/AgNO3 complex membrane also showed the deterioration of performance in long-term operation while BMIM+NO3-/AgNO3 complex membrane showed the long-term stability. We found that the counteranions of both silver salt and ionic liquid play an important role in reducing silver ion.
