Compliant Electrodes used in Electroactive Polymer Actuators with Large Displacement |

Electroactive polymer (EAP) actuator was fabricated with compliant electrodes to observe behavior in electromechanical strain. SEBS poly-(styrene-b-ethylbutylene) and PDMS poly-(dimethylsiloxane) as dielectric elastomer were used, the tetra-ethoxysilane/Graphene (Graphene prepared by hummers method) electrode was prepared by sol-gel reaction. The electrode of based ethanol on both sides of elastomer was coated using spray coater. The resulting actuator films were characterized by SEM, AFM, GIWAXS, UV-vis spectroscopy, and electrical conductivity measurements. The electrode, two-dimensional planar structure, was uniformly coated. When the thickness of electrode layer was 160 nm, the transmittance was about 70%. Also, electromechanical strain of the elastomer/graphene has stable displacement characteristics. |
