New thermosensitive graft poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) based Pluronic F-127 was synthesized by conventional free-radical polymerization using t-butylperoxybenzoate as initiator in Toluene. The polymers were characterized by NMR, GPC and the conformational transition (lower critical solution temperature, LCST) of graft copolymers were determined by the turbidity and contact angel measurements. Grafted poly(NIPAAm) chains affected the injectability, mechanical property, transparency, and phase transition, and these effects were dependent on chain amount and molecular weight of poly(NIPAAm) in graft copolymer hydrogels. These materials are promising candidates for in-situ gelation applications such as injectable drug delivery, and tissue engineering scaffolds. |
