A gold alloy catalyst with a palladium core can possesses a large surface area compared to a small amount of gold used, and exhibits a higher electrochemical catalyst property than a pure palladium or gold catalyst due to enhanced characteristics of a nano-alloy structure. In order to obtain the structure of palladium core-gold shell (Pd@Au), a conventional batch synthesis that is typically two-step process is employed, and each step requires a tedious purification procedure. In this study, we propose a one-step continuous reaction system using microchannel and micro-continuous stirred reactor (micro-CSTR), and investigate the effect of reactor residual time and reaction time controlled by flow rates on the morphology of the Pd@Au nanoparticles and the efficiency/yield of the new fabrication system. |
