제목 Growth of zinc phosphate coatings on AZ31 Mg alloy
초록 Zinc phosphate coating was formed on AZ31 Mg alloy through a phosphating bath where H3PO4, Zn(NO3)2, NaNO2, NaNO3 and NaF were applied. The formation behavior and morphologies of the coatings were characterized by SEM, OCP, weight balance, EDS, and XRD. It was found that the films grow into two layers of inner layer and outer crystalline layer alloys in the phosphating solution. The crystal layer grows laterally and covers the entire surface after 5 min. EDS and XRD patterns showed that the composition of the crystal is hopeite (Zn3(PO4)2.4H2O). Corrosion potential (Ecorr) of phosphate-treated AZ31 showed more positive value of about -1.3 V vs. SCE than that of Mg AZ31 alloy about -1.66 V vs. SCE. Corrosion rate (icorr) of AZ31 is reduced from 0.2 mA/cm2 to 0.8×10-3 mA/cm2 by phosphating treatment.
