제목 The preparation of insulating layer on Fe-3.5Si-4.5Cr core using HMDS for the construction of power inductor
초록 Recently, several studies have been performed for the preparation of soft magnetic composite materials (SMCs) for electromagnetic applications. The core materials are insulated by using iron phosphate or SiO2 layer with epoxy polymers to decrease eddy current loss. In this study, a thin insulating layer was deposited on the surface of Fe-3.5Si-4.5Cr alloy powder using hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS) for the preparation of magnetic core of power inductor. The insulated powder was mixed with polyetherimide (PEI) in methylene chloride and then compacted with various conditions to prepare magnetic core. The effect of insulation layer on the magnetic properties such as permeability and core loss was investigated. The HMDS insulated magnetic core exhibits higher permeability and lower core loss in comparison with phosphated magnetic core.
