제목 | Thermochromic properties of VO2 @ SiO2 core-shell composite |
초록 | Vanadium dioxide (VO2) is considered attractive material because of its thermochromic properties. These properties make VO2 useful for application to optical switching devices and smart windows. However, it has problems to apply as smart window, because VO2 nanoparticles may be oxidatively unstable. Core-shell structure of SiO2 coated VO2 can significantly improved chemical stability such as anti-oxidation. In this study, we reported well-crystallized VO2@SiO2 core-shell composite. VO2 nanoparticles were prepared by hydrolysis method and pretreated in PVP aqueous solution before the silica coating process for smooth and uniform coating. Core-shell VO2@SiO2 composite maintains its thermochromic properties after SiO2 coating. The crystal structure and transition temperature of VO2 @ SiO2 core-shell composite were confirmed by the XRD and DSC analyses. The TEM images show that VO2 nanoparticles have quasi-spherical shape and uniform SiO2 shell with thickness about 20nm. |
