제목 Large-Area High Crystalline Two-Dimensional Thin Film Driven by Coronene Core and Hyperbranched Polymer Shell
초록 Graphene is considered to be a large polyaromatic molecule, i.e., the exceptional case of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). This fascinating two-dimensional material has many potential applications, including field-effect transistors (FETs). However, due to the absence of a band-gap, graphene has very small on/off ratio which is the main limitation of device applications. Here, we report a bottom-up approach for the fabrication of new alternative 2D graphitic structure, which was started form the grafting 4-ethylbenzoic acid (EBA) as a monomer for hyperbranched polymer to the edges of polyaromatic coronene core. The resultant coronene core-hyperbranched EBA shell displayed well-defined 2D crystalline structure, which was observed by transmission electron microscope (TEM). The electrical properties of large-area graphitic film were studied by using FETs.
