Cosmeceuticals are the fastest-growing segment of the natural personal care industry. Over the last couple of decades, retinoids have been the most prevalent anti-ageing cosmeceuticals. Botanicals are now significant part in the cosmeceutical market. Their purported skin efficacies are thought to be exerted through the radical scavenging activities, and other unclear properties. More evidence-based research is required for botanicals to become a true cosmeceuticals. Tropical medicinal herbs from Malaysia are still remained largely untouched.Recent efforts to searching for novel cosmeceuticals in collaboration withUTM, Malaysia are being made.Some of the recent outcomes from this collaborative works and the future plans will be discussed. |
