The effects of hydroxypropyl cyclodextrins (HPCDs) on the photo-reactions of coumarin, 7-hydroxycoumarin and 7-acetoxycoumarin were investigated in the water phase. The effect of HPCDs to solubilize coumarin was in a sequence of HPγCD ＞ HPβCD ＞ HPαCD. HPγCD accelerated the photo-reaction of coumarin, but HPαCD and HPβCD had little effect. The effect of HPCDs to solubilize 7-hydroxycoumarin and 7-acetoxycoumarin was in a sequence of HPβCD ＞ HPγCD ＞ HPαCD. HPγCD accelerated the photo-reaction of 7-hydroxycoumarin and 7-acetoxycoumarin, but HPβCD decelerated the photo-reaction. |
