Effect of nickel-plated on thermal stability and fracture toughness of basalt fiber-reinforced epoxy composites. |
초록 |
This study, nickel plated basalt fiber-reinforced epoxy composites were fabricated. Basalt fibers were treated by acid and electroless nickel plating was applied on the treated basalt fibers. mechanical properties and thermal properties of the prepared composites were investigated according to plating time. The plating time controlled thickness of nickel on treating basalt fibers. FT-IR and XPS were used to invest effects of acid treatment and electroless nickel plating. The fracture toughness was calculated by the critical stress intensity factor (KIC). The morphology was observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). A thermal weight analyzer (TGA) was used to invest thermal stability. The results show that nickel plating on basalt fibers affects thermal and mechanical properties of basalt fiber-reinforced epoxy composites. |
