Rubber curatives has significant influence on physical properties of vulcanized rubber materials. For example, in excess sulfur curing system, aging and permanent deformation properties must be compromised. Also vulcanization accelerators perform different roles during the vulcanization reaction depending on the type. Therefore, it is critical to decide the appropriate dosage of curing agent and proper type of accelerator for specific application. In this study, various rubber compounding formulations has been designed and the physical properties of vulcanized EPDM rubber compounds were evaluated to investigate the correlation between the variation of curatives and physical properties. |
