Epoxy acrylate is known to be cured by electron beam irradiation. However, curing time is not satisfactory for industrial applications. Here we challenged that curing time can be reduced using non-ionic photo-initiator, which is normally used for UV photo-initiator. Effect of photo-initiator on curing mechanism is studied where electron beam and UV irradiated epoxy acrylate are compared. Curing behaviors of epoxy acrylate are spectroscopically analyzed. FT-IR spectra are quantitatively analyzed as decrease in 810cm-1 peak, while peak intensity of internal standard keeps constant. Raman spectra are also analyzed. Thermal behavior using Differential Scanning Calorimetry and degree of cure using solvent extraction method are also presented. |
