Fabrication and microstructure properties of biodegradable polycaprolactone (PCL)/cuttlebone (CB) scaffolds and their in vitro cellular study |
초록 |
Bone defects as a result of disease or injury have a very limited ability to heal spontaneously. Recently, tissue engineering has received considerable attention as a natural bone healing process. Hybrid scaffolds are one of the methods for bone regeneration technology. In this study, these hybrid scaffolds were fabricated with polycaprolactone (PCL) and cuttlebone (CB) by salt-leaching process. By using the sodium chloride (NaCl) as a pore-forming agent, porous PCL/CB scaffolds were fabricated by focusing on the volume percentages of CB and NaCl. In the porous scaffolds, pores in range of 200 – 300 μm in diameter were homogenously dispersed in the PCL/CB matrix and revealed excellent interconnected pores. The microstructures of these hybrid scaffolds were investigated by focusing on the mass ratio of CB and NaCl using SEM and ICP techniques. |
