제목 Analysis on the electrostatic repulsion between cylindrical colloidal particles
초록 Colloidal stability of the cylindrical particles are highly required with recent progress in nanotube research. Many nanotubes are prepared in the form of a suspension containing various salts, thereby analysis on the interaction between these cylindrical colloidal particles are of interest. In this study, the electrostatic repulsion working between model cylindrical particles is analyzed. The repulsiveenergy was calculated by numerical technique under the consideration of various physicochemical parameters such as ionic strength and configuration of the cylinders. The analysis indicates that the repulsive energy is highly dependent to the orientation of cylinders as well as the ionic strength and valency. This results could be used in predicting the stability of various nanotube and nanorod suspensions.
