Deep desulfurization of oil by extraction with ionic liquids |

In recent years deep desulfurization of gasoline and diesel oil has attracted much attention, because of gradational reduction of the amount of sulfur-containing compounds in oil. Extraction of S-compounds from oil by ionic liquids (ILs) could be a promising alternative to common hydrodesulfurization (HDS). Sulfur-containing compounds which are hard to remove by HDS can be successfully removed by extracting with ionic liquids. |
