Mediated electrocatalytic reduction (MER) is a promsing approach in dehalogenation of halogenated volatile organic compounds (HVOCs) due to avoid their polymerization in reduction process. Bimetallic complexes are robust in an enhancement of the reduction process. Laking in selective metal ion reduction and its quantification minimizes the application of bimetallic compounds in MER process. The present investigation focuses on Cu1+ selectievely in bimetallic CuII[NiII(CN)4] by suitable electrode. At first, electrolytic reduction of CuII[NiII(CN)4] was carried out at different cathodes (Cu, Ag, and Pt) in 10 M KOH solution. Oxidation/reduction potential (ORP) value change was considered as first identification of selective metal ion at different electrodes. ESR, UV-visible, and CV analyses were derived to identify the exact metal ion reduction, especially Cu1+ formation. |
