Erbium(III) complexes employing chromophores as light-harvesting ligands have attracted much attentions for the development of polymer-based waveguide amplifiers operating at 1.5 mm. We have successfully synthesized erbium complexes with dendritic porphyrin ligands possessing two carboxylic acid anchors. These complexes have been isolated by recycle-GPC and fully characterized by 1H-NMR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, IR stspectroscopy and SEM-EDS. By NIR photoluminescence measurement with erbium-porphyrin complexes, we found that excitation energy of porphyrin ligand, upon excitation at Soret band, is efficiently transferred to the central Er(III) moiety. |
