제목 | Hetero-junction metal oxide coated ITO nano-branches for gas sensors |
초록 | Several metal oxides are used in gas sensors. Gas is detected through adsorption and desorption on the material surface. Therefore, it is predictable that as the surface area increase, the sites that can be adsorbed by the gas increase, and the efficiency will increase. So, nanostructures can be used for gas sensors. Each metal oxide has different characteristics for each detectable gas and temperature. In addition, when the gas sensor is produced by heterojunction of metal oxides, the gas sensing characteristics differ from that of the original metal oxide. Sensitivity to certain gases increases, or other gases can be detected. This is due to the depletion region occurring at the interface because of the band gap difference between the two materials. So, in this experiment, ITO was fabricated as nanobranches, and metal oxide was spin coated on it to fabricate a gas sensor. The resistance value can be easily adjusted according to the growth degree of the nanobranches, and band banding is formed by making ITO and metal oxide into a heterojunction. Through this, it aims to realize a gas sensor with higher efficiency than the characteristics that could be detected by the existing metal oxide. |
