제목 Visible Light-Driven Photogeneration of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S)
초록 Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is an important gasotransmitter. Several photo-induced H2S donors have been developed to date, but their utility is limited due to the requirement of UV light. We have developed a visible light-induced, singlet oxygen-mediated H2S donor. The donor was based on nanoparticles incorporating a 1O2 photosensitizer (IrOMe), a 1O2-responsive H2S donor (DPBS), and a fluorescent H2S probe. Upon photoirradiation, IrOMe converted dioxygen (3O2) into 1O2, which react with DPBS to produce 1,2-diketone and H2S. The H2S photogeneration was also validated by electrochemical measurements using H2S-selctive electrode. Utility of our donor has been demonstrated by switching 1O2 photosensitizer to a visible-light-active PtOEP. The H2S-donating nanoparticles were readily uptaken by HeLa cells. Green LEDs photoirradiation of the treated HeLa cells evoked fluorescence in the cytosol. Finally, we have demonstrated that photogenerated H2S mitigate oxidative stress in HeLa cells.
