The Liquid Crystal and Optical Properties of Unsymmertrical Dimmers Containing Cholesterol and Nitroazobenzene |
초록 |
Cholesteric LCs shows the unique selective reflection colour due to their helical structure on light. The reflected colour is influenced by the temperature, magnetic field, electric field, chemical compositions and external force. Cholesteric LCs is expected to be useful as active media for LCD display. Particularly, if the selective reflection is in the visible region, these cholesteric materials would have excellent potential for full-color display with low electric power consumption. In this paper, we synthesized the series of asymmertric dimesogenic compounds containing cholesterol and nitroazobenzene with photoresponse via the alkylene spacers and their thermal and optical properties on liquid crystal phase were investigated. |
