High triplet energy materials with a diphenylether linking group and phenylcarbazole, 9,9'-(oxybis([1,1'-biphenyl]-4',3-diyl))bis(9H-carbazole) (CBBPE) was synthesized as host materials for blue phosphoresent organic light-emitting diodes. The diphenylether linking group was introduced in the molecular structure to obtain high triplet energy by separating two phenylcarbazole groups. CBBPE showed high triplet energy of 2.71 eV for efficient energy transfer to blue phosphorescent dopant. It also exhibited highest occupied molecular orbital and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital suitable for hole injection and electron injection. The host materials was evaluated as host materials for iridium (III) bis((3,5-difluorophenyl)pyridine) picolinate and high quantum efficiency was achieved in sky blue phosphorescent device. |
