제목 | Simultaneous removal of two gaseous VOCs by oxidative and reductive mediators generated by a single divided electrolytic cell |
초록 | Instead of utilizing only half electrochemical cell, here, the investigation started to utilize the full electrochemical cell in the form of mediated electrochemical oxidation (MEO) and mediated electrochemical reduction (MER) process. The oxidative mediator Co(III) and reductive mediator Co(I)(CN)54- formation were confirmed using measure oxidation/reduction potential (ORP) changes. The oxidation/reduction efficiencies calculated using titration with FeSO4 and KMnO4, respectively, and evidences the two mediator generation using a single divided electrochemical cell. In MER process, electrogenerated Co(I)(CN)54- from Co(II)(CN)53- in 10 M KOH medium was utilized to remove dichloromethane. In another anodic half-cell, electrogenerated Co(III) from Co(II)SO4 in 5 M H2SO4 medium was utilized to removal gasous phenol.
