A single divided electrolytic cell facilitated generation of two mediators and removal of two gaseous VOCs concurrently |
초록 |
Among many electrochemical cell used to generate only one mediator, here in we have started to generate two mediators and their application by mediated electrochemical oxidation (MEO) and mediated electrochemical reduction (MER) process. The oxidative mediator Co(III) and reductive mediator Co(I)(CN)54- formation were confirmed using measure oxidation/reduction potential (ORP) changes. The Co(III) and Co(I)(CN)64- concentrations were derived by potentiometric titration with FeSO4 and KMnO4, respectively, and evidences the two mediator generation using a single divided electrochemical cell. The electrogenerated Co(I)(CN)54- from Co(II)(CN)53- in 10 M KOH medium was utilized to remove dichloromethane by MER. The electrogenerated Co(III) from Co(II)SO4 in 5 M H2SO4 medium was utilized to removal gasous phenol by MEO. |
