Encapsulation of electroluminescent materials using ß-cyclodextrin |

Zn(8-hydroxyquinoline)2 and Mg(8-hydroxyquinoline)2 which are well-known as electroluminescent materials were encapsulated by ß-cyclodextrin and their photoluminescent properties were tested. When they were encapsulated by cyclodextrin, both of those electroluminescent materials showed some what blue-shifted photoluminescent peaks compare to typical Zn(8-hydroxyquinoline)2 and Mg(8-hydroxyquinoline)2 emission peaks.
