Improved electrosorption capacity of activated carbon fiber electrode modified by oxyfluorination for capacitive deionization |
초록 |
The capacitive deionization (CDI) is considered a very efficient desalination technology compared to other conventional desalination technologies. In this paper, activated carbon fibers (ACFs) were modified by oxyfluorination using mixture of fluorine and oxygen gases with different partial pressure ratio of mixture gases. According to the partial pressure ratio. The concentration of C-F bond was investigated using x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and was increased by increasing partial pressure of fluorine gas. The CDI process was conducted at an electric potential of 0 – 1.2 V in 500 ppm NaCl aqueous solution at 20 ml/min flow rate. The specific electrosorption capacity of prepared electrodes was increased by increasing partial pressure of fluorine gas, and the specific electrosorption capacity was increased 116%. |
