제목 Robust membrane for power generation using seawater and river water
초록 The need for green energy is big issue in these days. Pressure retarded osmosis (PRO) has been considered as one of the most promising technology utilizing the salinity gradient. To industrialize the PRO system, the semi-permeable membrane is the most important component. The membrane for the PRO system requires high water flux and excellent mechanical strength to obtain maximum power density. In this study, new type of membrane was developed consisting of thermally rearranged poly(benzoxazole) (TR-PBO) electrospun membrane (ENM) as a support layer and ultra-thin polyamide (PA) active layer. The TR-PBO thin film composite membrane can withstand high hydraulic pressure to utilize high concentrated solution as a draw and, subsequently, high power density can be obtained.
