In this study, we introduced the azido-alkyne click reaction on synthesized azido thermoplastic polyurethane (azido-TPU). Although the TPUs have good flexibility and processibility, there are restriction of application due to absence of reaction site. The azido groups on TPU could be functionalized using the alkyne agents via azido-alkyne click reaction. To prove the potential application of azido-TPU, we confirmed the processibility and mechanical properties of the azido TPU. The azido TPU had good processibility by way of free-standing film and fiber form and satisfactory mechanical properties of film and fiber. The fabricated azido-TPU fiber is expected to variety application field because of the high specific surface area and clickable azido group. Herein, the dye with alkyne group was introduced on azido-TPU to visually confirm the application via click reaction. |
