Biofilter system for enhancing microbial adhesion and removal ratio of pollutants |

The removal of various organic vapors was investigated in a lab-scale biofilter. Biofitration system was operated with the column packed with the polyurethane foam. Thepore size of the foam were controlled with the salt content. The microorganisms were immbilized on the medium of which surface was modifed with the functional groups such as the amine group.The filter was operated under the conditions of various inlet pollutant concentrationand the elimination capacity was investigated. From the results, the surface modification with the amine group enhanced themicrobial adhesion and removal ratio of pollutant. |
