Colloidal particles with unique internal morphologies were prepared by blending symmetric block copolymer inside emulsion droplets and carrying out subsequent solvent evaporation. For uniform emulsion, we have adopted membrane emulsification process, in which emulsion size and distribution depends on the membrane pore size and gas pressure or concentration of surfactant, respectively. Through the evaporation of emulsions, uniform block copolymer spheres were produced. Then, by adding homopolymers into the emulsion, the nanoscopic features of the self-assembled morphologies were also controlled. Depending on the affinity of surfactant with polymers, internal morphologies were also changed dramatically. |
