제목 Effect of Compatibilizer in Polysulfone/Layered Silicate Nanocomposite
초록 Polymer/Layered silicate nanocomposite has attracted considerable interest owing to improvements over their pure state or conventional composite in thermal, mechanical, and gas barrier properties by adding a small amount of layered silicates, dispersed on the nanometer scale.
In this study, polysulfone/compatibilizer/synthetic organophilic layered silicate nanocomposites were prepared by solution method in DMAc. We investigated the effect of compatibilizer to improve the dispersity between polysulfone and silicate, and to reduce WVTR by nanocomposite. We synthesized compatibilizers that were constituted aromatic and sulfone group and end-capped by long alkyl chain. Compatibilizers were various oligomer which controlled molecular weight and alkyl chain length of end-capper. Layered silicate in polysulfone was expoliated under critical amount of it, and intercalated above it. WVTR reduced to one-third as compared to that of pure polysulfone film. We will discuss their transparency and surface morphology. The structure of polymer nanocomposite was characterized by XRD and AFM. The thermal and mechanical properties measured by DSC, TGA and UTM.
