제목 Synthesis of pH-sensitive poly(ethylene oxide)-based block copolymer using sulfadimethoxinyl methacrylamide
초록 Chain-end functionalized polymers have received a great deal of attention in the polymer chemistry field. Among them, ω-halogenated polymer is well known as a macroinitiator for atom transfer radical polymerization. Furthermore, it can be used for the synthesis of reversible addition fragmentation transfer(RAFT)agent. We have synthesized living poly(ethylene oxide) via anionic polymerization. The resulting living alkoxide was terminated with 2-bromopropionyl bromide leading to the generation of ω-brominated PEO. The resulting polymer can be converted to the RAFT agent through the reaction with potassium ethyl xanthogenate. A methacrylate type of sulfadimethoxine monomer was synthesized by the reaction of methacryloyl chloride with sulfadimethoxine in water/acetone. The PEO-based RAFT agent was used to polymerize the sulfonamide monomer using AIBN in DMSO. The resulting block copolymer showed the pH-sensitive property. In this presentation, we will report the preliminary results.
