제목 Straightforward fabrication of robust cryogel from cellulose acetate and PVA for efficient oil-water separation
초록 Oil spill in different bodies of water has been of the global issues in terms of pollution in the environment. In order to help attend to this matter, we fabricated a cryogel via simple  freeze-drying procedure. The prepared material showed not only its porous characteristic but also its excellent mechanical strength and remarkable flexibility. The exceptional characteristics of the cryogel was obtained using cellulose acetate and polyvinyl alcohol through a crosslinking reaction. In this work, the surface of the prepared material was modified via hydrolysis using a basic solution for a superhydrophilic surface and chemical vapor deposition using an organosilane for hydrophobic surface. The cryogel possesses great performance for the separation of oil and water. Additionally, it has a high reusability and environment friendly materials were used in the fabrication. The obtained material exhibits a superb adsorption ability in water and various types of oil.
