Antimicrobial Activities of Ethosome-Encapsulated Palmitoyl Tripeptide |

Palmitoyl tripeptide (M330) shows more powerful antimicrobial activities compared to commercial preservatives like parabens. However, Palmitoyl tripeptide cannot be used in cosmetics as preservatives because its antimicrobial activities are decreased significantly in cosmetic formulation. Encapsulation of the tripeptide into ethosome was attempted to restore and stabilize the tripeptide activities. In this study, the potential cosmetic preservative ability of ethosome-encapsulated palmitoyl tripeptide is demonstrated and the physico-chemical properties of the ethosome are investigated. |
