In the industrialization of chemical processes, heterogeneous catalysts are preferred over homogeneous catalysts due to their operational, economical, and environmental advantages. In this study, heterogeneous organometallic catalysts were prepared for the polymerization of ethylene. MgCl2-supported Ziegler-Natta catalyst was prepared using chemical route. FT-IR, XPS analysis, and SEM of the catalyst showed that MgCl2 support was successfully formed as well active Ti specie. Furthermore, ethylene/1-octene copolymerization results showed that alcohol and organoaluminum addition condition affects the catalytic activity. |
