제목 Environmental responsive multi-layered hydrogel with spiropyran cross-linker for visualizing sensor
초록 The spiropyran molecule has a unique optical change property for converting the purple merocyanine (MC) form from the colorless spiropyran (SP) form under various stimuli. Furthermore, the merocyanine molecule could be given protonated merocyanine (MCH) form with yellow color in acidic solution. In this study, we synthesized the spiropyran grafted poly (ethylene glycol) diacrylate (SP-PEGDA) to prepare the pH responsive bi-layered hydrogel. The expansion ratio of each layer in the bi-layered hydrogel was controlled with the synthesized SP-PEGDA cross-linker and conventional methylenebisacrylamide (BIS), respectively. The hydrogel consisting of two layers with different expansion ratios produced various curvatures in self-folding in terms of pH conditions. Overall, this new strategy to prepare the bi-layered hydrogel cross-linked with the synthesized spiropyran could examined by visualizing self-folding process of the gel in response of pH conditions.
