제목 In-situ recovery for highly pure biofuel production through perstraction
초록 This presentation introduces a significant break-through in the energy-intensive downstream processes used for biodiesel production, which provides a 10-fold increase in productivity for n-butanol while using only 25% of the energy requirement of the current downstream processes. These new benchmarks were achieved through creation of affinity-tailored membranes able to provide fast alcohol permeation, combined with application of a highly efficient extractant, combined to recover the butanol without phase change absenting water, and eliminating the energy-intensive heterogeneous azeotrope distillation step.
