제목 Nanoporous membrane from a block polymer thin film
초록 Casting a block polymer solution on a substrate leaves a block polymer thin film which self-organizes into interesting nanostructures via microphase separation during evaporation of solvent. Careful design of the block polymer enables to convert the film into a well-defined nanoporous layer by etching one of the blocks. While such films have attracted significant interest for lithography and filtration applications, mechanism of microphase separation and microdomain alignment during solvent evaporation has not been understood clearly. Also for particularly filtration applications, formation of a block polymer thin film over a macroporous support towards a highly selective, highly permeable, and mechanically strong membrane has been challenging. In this talk, I will briefly introduce recent progress on understanding of block polymer structuring during solvent evaporation and discuss fabrication of filtration membranes consisting of block polymer-derived nanoporous thin films.
