Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) have considerable attentions to their distinct benefits such as superior optoelectrical performance, a lack of optical blinking, low cytotoxicity, and excellent biocompatibility compared with organic dyes and other semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) with heavy metal cores. In this study, high fluorescent CQDs were simply prepared by microwave-assisted pyrolysis of lysine as a representative AB2 type monomer (A: -COOH, B: -NH2) within 10 min using a household microwave oven. Chemical composition and morphological features of prepared CQDs were examined by various characterizations. Lysine-based CQDs showed high aqueous solubility together with strong fluorescence quantum yield (QY) up to 23.3 %, which is very promising in many applications including bioimaging, light-emitting diodes, and solar conversion, etc. 2017년 한국교통대학교 지원을 받아 수행하였음. |
