Development of hybrid coating materials which are composed of UV-cured functional acryl resin and silica sol have been widely studied as hard coating for improving surface hardness of films. However, although they have should their surface hardness above 7H, the formation of crack when UV-cured film was bent disabled them to satisify the target property. In this work, dual cured material was synthesized from 4,4’-methylene dicyclohexyl diisocyanate with 2,2-dimethylolbutanoic acid and 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate and formulated with epoxy/acryl modified silica, urethane 6-functional acrylate and other functional acrylate for both surface hardness and toughness. The mixture was then coated on the glass with spin-coating followed by UV-curing, pre-dried in 80℃ and finally post-cured above 120℃. It was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), pencil hardness, impact strength, transmittance, yellowing resistance, and contact angle, respectively. |
