제목 Synthesis and Characterization of New Thermally Stable, Transparent Polynorbornenes with Functionalized Imide Side Groups
초록 Norbornene is a cyclohexene bridged with a methylene group in the para position. The molecule carries a double bond which induces significant ring strain and reactivity. In general, polynorbornenes synthesized by ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) are highly transparent. However, thermal stability is not enough to apply to flexible substrate. In this work, we synthesized exo-N-4-chlorophenylnorbornene-5,6-dicarboxyimide (MCPhNDI) and exo-N-3,5-dichlorophenylnorbornene-5,6-dicarboxyimide (DCPhNDI) and their polymers were obtained via ROMP using ruthenium initiator. Various properties of these polymers were characterized by NMR and FT-IR spectroscopies, thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), and etc..
